Iwakuni Middle School
I realized my life was different when I saw pictures of all of my old friends still together, in every place I’ve lived. It’s hard to see all of your old friends living the same life as when you left, but you have to keep restarting, finding new friends only to move away from them too. The common factor in Iwakuni is how everyone is a military child and everyone has to move, almost every child in Iwakuni has that in common. I was by myself, looking at my friends’ social media, and my old friends all are still together, in every place, you sit and realize that they still have all of that time together, and you don’t because you had to move and make new friends. The cycle continues, you move, and everyone stays in that one place. It is amazing to be a military child just because you get to see the world and experience so many new things at different times, or being able to meet all of the new people. It also makes you appreciate the time you have, and wanting to make every moment valuable, because that time will pass eventually and you cannot go back.
