Being a military child is very hard because of the constant moving and our parents are always at work or on deployment. But there are some advantages to being a military child, like discounts at restaurants and stores. Being a military child holds many challenges and can be very life changing. One big challenge is changing schools. Every time you move as a military child you change schools. This can affect grades and relationships with people. Your friendships from your other school can be drawn apart because of being really far away. Sometimes kids' grades can go down because their school can be learning something different than their last school or they miss their old home and have depression and won’t do any work at all. Another big challenge is parents always being at work or they become deployed. This is hard because your parents can miss holidays such as your birthday or a big event in your life like sports or concerts. They are also not there when you need their help. But despite all of those disadvantages, there are still advantages to being a military child such as health care. You can have access to medicine and the care of doctors without it being too expensive because the military can pay for it. It can benefit educational purposes as well. They can pay for your schools so you can have the education you need. All of these challenges can be life changing to a child and it is important to help them when they are having a hard time in school and just in general.
