2023/Kian-

The benefits that come with being a military child don’t really compare to the stress of usually not having a parent around. I’ve spent almost my whole life as a military child, so I have grown accustomed to moving a lot, and adjusting to new experiences. I was born in California, where my dad had just joined the military. After some time in Lemmore, we got the opportunity to move to Atsugi, Japan. I attended most of elementary school there before I moved to Iwakuni, where I finished elementary school. I spent the next two years in Florida, where I started middle school, but then moved back to Iwakuni, where I completed middle school and have now started high school. From the start of my military life, my dad hasn’t really been around because of the annual deployment that he always attends, so having a relationship with him hasn't always been easy. Not having my dad around has caused me stress that non-military children can’t understand, but I appreciate all the experiences and opportunities that are given to us.
