Kadena Air Base is my first base and I have been a military child for almost three years now! Being a military child means making sacrifices I have had to make some big sacrifices and some little sacrifices. Some of the big sacrifices I have had to make is leaving my mom, other family members, friends that I was close with, changing schools, my dad leaving before us to come here to Okinawa, and my dad going to basic training. Some of the sacrifices I have not had to deal with is my dad having to deploy or go on a TDY. Some of the good things about being a military child are being based in new places, like Okinawa. I love the beaches they are fun to explore, swim, and snorkel in. Some of their foods are fun to try and end up being good, others are just disgusting. Ramen or Curry has to be my favorite foods here. I also love all the hidden little shops here.
