Why Being A Military Child Is Hard

Being a military child has lots of people with different opinions. Some may think it is hard and here are a couple reasons why it might be hard. A military child is a child with a parent in the military. They move from place to place about every two or three years to go to another place on their parents' work orders. They leave behind a lot of things they will miss.

The main reason why most say it is hard is because of moving. They move away and they have to find ways to accept, adjust, and more. Many children have trouble making friends so they will not be in a good mood. They have to learn to adjust to their new neighborhood, neighbors, school, friends and more. Many kids have trouble doing all of that and might make them feel sad, grief, mad, and many other emotions. It is what it is.

Another reason why it is hard being a military child is because of wanting to be like everyone else. Some might not want to be moving and have normal lives like everyone else. At times, they might say to their parents, “Why can’t you get a different job?” Most only feel comfortable with kids that are like them. Many military kids might go to their school.

In conclusion, detachment is what they feel most of all. It is hard when going through times like that. Now we have technology and kids can keep in touch. Soon, they will get used to it though. Being a military child can be interesting, but challenging at the same time.

“Is it necessary? Detachment is scary.”
