My life as a military child is great. There are some bad things, but I have some reasons why being a military child is great. I get to travel a lot, I get to try new foods, I get to live in different houses, my mom doesn’t have to work, and I get to make new friends.
I get to travel a lot. I have been to 5 different places. Green Bay Wisconsin, San Diego California, Beaufort South Carolina, Virginia Beach Virginia, and Sasebo Japan. They have all been great places. I was able to make a lot of friends.
I get to try new foods. Since I'm a military child, I get to try new foods. Here, in Japan there are a lot of different foods. Like in America I never had a pizza bun, I didn’t even know that pizza buns existed, now it’s one of my favorite foods.
My mom doesn't have to work. My mom used to work as a teacher. She worked at 5 different school districts. Since my dad is always gone, we need a parent always available. My mom can pick me up from school and make us dinner.
I made a lot of friends. In Virginia Beach We had a neighborhood of all friends from different cultures. My friends are Korean, Egyptian, Black, White, Hispanic, and Filipino. If I wasn’t a military child I probably wouldn’t have these memories.
There are some bad things about being a military child. You must leave your friends, have to switch schools, your dad has to leave all the time. You must put some things you love in temporary storage. Also, when you start to love a place it’s time to move again.
