Mrs. Hudson’s B2 class
Humphreys Middle School
We’ve lived in Oklahoma, Maryland, Hawaii, New York, South Carolina, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Georgia, Washington State, and many other states.
We are from Germany, Japan, South Korea, the U.S.A., and other far-off places.
We know of Whataburger and cowboy hats, Hispanic food, spam musubi and beautiful beaches, Christmas markets, Filipino food, Soul food, basketball, loud city noises we used to hate, and crows watching from the trees.
Have you ever been to The Lone Star State, The Sunshine State, The Aloha State, The Home of the Blues, The Peach State, The Empire State, The Evergreen State, El Chuco, or Deutschland?
We can still see and hear and smell bluebonnets, armadillos, rolling plains, alligators, lizards, iguanas, nene birds, turtles, dolphins, stinging nettle, wild boar, beaches, fish, mountains, deer, racoons, rats, moles, crocodiles, palm trees, coconuts, snakes, cacti, bears, lynx, bats, and seals… These are ingrained in our memories.
There are so many people we will never forget - Annie, Libby, Austin, Adrian, Bristol, Sean, Elizabeth, Justin, Joy, JoJo, Brian, GiGi, Mady, TJ, Alyssa, Clayton, Aaron, Lily, and Bella - just to name a few…
We’ve met some amazing people, visited different states and countries, learned new languages, explored new cultures, tried different foods, made new friends, and studied different religions.
We get nervous, angry, sad, afraid, at the thought of having to say goodbye again, but there is always a little excitement, hope, and happiness.
We are courageous, determined, adaptable, brave, hardcore, strong, kind, and different.
We are Military Connected Children.
