Dandelion Kids

Military kids are like dandelions. The wind moves them from place to place. The wind is their parents' jobs that make them move from place to place. This is what happened to me when I was 10 years old, I had to say goodbye to my friends and family, and then leave from the place that I considered home. When I first moved I thought that I was gonna be alone, but I made friends really quick and I formed my group which would be my friends for the next three years. Luckily, some of my friends from my old school were already here so it was easier for me. Then there was an English barrier. When I came here my English was so poor I couldn’t even say the word backpack, and this affected me a lot because I always felt sick in every class, so I always went home early because I thought I was gonna throw up. But I wasn’t really sick, I just was really upset and scared of getting really bad grades. But after I learned some English that all faded away, and I had a good rest of the school year. Then 2 years later one of my best friends went back to Spain, and I was really sad, but some new people came so I made new friends, and it wasn’t that bad after all. I only have a few more months before I go back to Spain, but remember: military kids fly like dandelions, from one place to another.
