Except the packages I receive Require a box-cutter to open them Except the gifts I get Are things I already had. Except there is no tree, No lights, No cookies, No carols, No stockings, And no snow. But there is still Anticipation, Excitement, Hope, And joy in each new discovery. For it may be April, But for a military child like me, It's Christmas day again.
