Dear Reader,

Life as a military child isn’t always the easiest but it’s not always the hardest. Sometimes you have to leave behind lifelong friends or go to places you’ve never been to before and meet new people or be afraid of everyone and everything. My life as a military child has had its ups and downs but I wouldn't have any other way. Because of this constant moving I've had chances to be places I didn’t even know existed. Sometimes it’s hard to be a military child because the friends you make in one place you have to leave them and move to another place just to leave them again.

My life as a military child has been really good. I was born in New Mexico, a very hot, dry place. Then I moved to Okinawa, Japan which was a place with a whole culture I didn’t even know existed. Now Okinawa is my favorite place and I’ve met some really nice people that I hope to stay friends with. With the opportunity to go to different places it’s given me the opportunity to try new things and things now I can’t live without. So, the opportunity to go different places has been great. The military gives me and my family free housing. It also gives my parents more money to get stuff that the family needs or wants. So being a military child has been gifting and kind.
