Hi I’m Eli! I’m here to talk about what it is like being a military child. I move a lot because my dad is in the military, so we move once every three years. I have lived in California, South Carolina, and Okinawa. Okinawa is the only place where I lived for 6 years.
When you are a military child it’s easy to make friends with other kids because they have gone through the same thing. It’s fun to make new friends but you’re only together for a limited time, which is hard. But it's okay it's the adventures and the memories that you made with them that count.
One of the experiences you can have as a military child is trying new foods. When I was in South Carolina they had a place called Yo-Yo’s. It was a frozen yogurt store, and their yogurt was so good. In Japan there's a place called Yakiniku's and it's all you can eat buffet and the food is extremely good.
Another thing you can experience is traveling to new places. Some new places can have different kinds of parks. In South Carolina, they had basic parks but in Japan they have three story parks that are so much fun and in great condition.
The last thing you can experience is different cultures and how people act. In California you barely talk to anyone. In South Carolina, you say good morning. In Okinawa, they treat you well and with a lot of respect.
