My name is Ian and I’m a military child! I am ten years old and have been to quite a lot of places, and learning about all of them has been a very interesting experience!
I’ve been able to see so many amazing places, like Japan! It’s fascinating to see the different cultures and ways people live outside of the United States! The new scenery is great, living next to a large body of water just makes me wonder what happens further out in the ocean. The scenery, cultures, and ways people live are fascinating to see!
Moving from your best friends is tough, especially the ones you’ve been close to. Leaving the places you’ve grown to love isn’t much easier. And not being near your family is hard and sad. One piece of advice is to relive your favorite moments in life in your head, that way, you won’t forget what amazing journeys you’ve had.
Have you ever had the feeling that you're completely alone without your parents being near you while they’re on duty or deployment for a while? I think every Military child has been there at some point. I believe that when your parents return from deployment or duty, you should celebrate! Making them feel welcome after long months or weeks your parents felt alone, celebrating their arrival seems a great idea.
All in all, being a Military child can be fantastic, but it can also sometimes be a nuisance. Everyone’s situation is different.
