Life as a Military Child

There are pros and cons about being a military child. Some days I like being one and other days I don’t.

First up, new friends. You can make nine hundred septillion friends from all over the world! Why? Because in the military, you move and then stay there for a couple of years, and then, move again, and again, and again until your parent/s retire and become a veteran.

Another fun thing is that you learn about the country and its culture. For example, Japan has coins with holes and the bills don’t have U.S. presidents on them. But that’s not all that will be new. You will also have a new house. That house might have two floors. You also might start or quit using chopsticks depending what you have and what country you moved to.

There are also cons for being a military child. First, old friends. To meet other people, you have to leave your friends behind until you see them again because most military children when they move won’t see your friends again. Next, old memories. Imagine you are moving somewhere and you couldn’t take your pet to that country your moving to. That wouldn't be happy.

There are pros and cons to being a military child. In my opinion I like being a military child.
