We, The Military Brats

As I looked across the empty house, I only saw packed boxes filling up the spaces of which I have spent for a long time. I have friends, the best ones I've made in years. But soon to be gone of these wonderful memories. We were living in Fort Knox, Kentucky before we were moving to Belgium. Deep down I didn't want to move away from my friends, family, and America. But it would happen anyway. I was done packing for the moment and so I asked to play outside and Mom said yes. I came out in the bright, gleaming sun and ran to ask my friends if they could play, they said yes typically. I remember the good times we had during winter, summer, fall, spring. We had so much fun over the couple of years that I stayed here.

Mom and Dad were getting ready for the final block (house) Party we were going to have. We invited everyone, my sister's, My, Mom's, and Dad's friends was all coming over to celebrate with us. That night, the fire was blazing with warmth and comfort as the party settled down. And I was thinking, thinking about how I might never see my friends again. Later, while we were hanging out on my trampoline I told my friends, Grayson, Skylar, Everett, and William about what might happen, and they laughed because of how we can keep in touch, and thats exactly what we did.

It was the day we were leaving and I just hopped into the car and my family asked me If me and Heidi were ready, and I replied "We're ready". Now when someone asks you where you are from and you're in the military you don't know how to answer because the list goes on..... but I know how to answer that question. I say, "Everywhere".
