It smelled like sushi

The big cherry blossoms

Whose cool fun flowers I remember

As if they were my own.

I am from Tokyo Tower and Skytree Tower

From Jess and John

I am from funny

And the tired

From JT to Jerick

I am from the white dandelions

With a purple tulip

And ten songs I can play myself.

I’m from Osaka Tower and Kyoto Tower

Yen and won

From the snow festival lost to the snow

To the tall tiki torches used to keep mosquitoes away.

Under my bed was a dog spilling fabric

A small piece of John

To drift beneath my dreams.

I am from those moments -

Ran before I slept.
