Why do we have to wear purple for the month of the military child?

During the Month of the Military Child in April, people are encouraged to wear purple as a visible way to show support and thank military children for their strength and sacrifices, as purple symbolizes all branches of the military.


What is the month of the military about?

Month of the Military Child" to honor and recognize the unique sacrifices and resilience of military children, who face frequent moves, deployments, and other challenges due to their parents' service. May is National Military Appreciation Month, a time to honor and recognize the contributions and sacrifices of the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, past and present. The month is a time to show appreciation for military service members, recognize their victories and sacrifices, and reflect on military families and individuals who serve the public in government.


Why do military children and families have to move?

Military families move frequently (every 2-4 years) due to the nature of military service, which often requires service members to be reassigned to new duty stations, a process known as a Permanent Change
