Daegu Elementary School
Ever since I was 4 years old, I’ve been moving overseas and all over the states. At just a young age, I had to adapt to losing friends and family. I have a best friend/cousin who lives in the states and I had to get used to only facetiming.
I’ve been PSCing since 2017 and I’ve lived in 6 different places, Texas (2013-2017), Japan (2017-2020), Belgium (2020-2020), New Mexico (2021-2022), Alaska (2022-2023), and South Korea (2023- ). As you can see, I have moved a lot. I’ve met new people and cultures.
Whenever I went to a new school, I was quiet and shy, but quick to make friends. When I lived in the states, I had to get used to the new type of education tools, meanwhile the DoDEA schools used the same education tools. Yes, it was weird at first, but I got used to it.
You’re probably a military child too if you're reading this, so listen to my advice. Moving isn’t as bad as you might think. You will be able to meet new people, learn about new cultures and their food. It is fun and cool. And, you could tell people about what you learned, how good the food was, and what you saw!
