My life as a Military Child

My life as a military child is amazing because I get to have awesome experiences like eating yummy food! For example sushi, acai bowls and kalalan pork are soooooo oishi! Oishi means yummy or tasty in Japanese. When I first got to Japan the airport food was different and pretty good, the stores were cool and different too. If I wasn’t a military child and hadn’t had the experience to move to Japan I probably wouldn't know that.

Another thing that is great about being a military child is I get a lot of fun experiences like going to cool places like Hawaii and Japan. Sometimes it can be hard to leave your friends and move far away. Finally, I want to tell you one more fun experience about being a military child, for one the culture in Japan is different. For example, when I made soba noodles it was a lot different than making spaghetti. Did you know that in Japan you use chopsticks instead of spoons, forks, or sporks?

I didn’t know until I moved to Japan that Oni or “Japanese Ogres” are very rude and the traditional way to get rid of them is to throw magical beans at them. But it’s not all about all of the experiences. It’s also about the joy of seeing one of your family members come home after a long deployment overseas! That is why I think being a military child is amazing!
