I am a military child,

I love who I am.

But one day, I was scared—

It was like my heart was going to explode.

I had to give a speech

Because I won the patch,

The MOTMC patch.

It felt like I was falling into a hole.

When I got on stage,

My legs were shaking.

I was scared because I have stage fright,

But I told myself, "I got this."

So, military kids, you should try something.

If you are scared,

Tell yourself that you got this!
