From the lands of Cherry Blossoms to deserts of the west Where all my siblings grown in a big world of surprise The phrase “You’re doing awesome” always struck through my chest As I walk to school alone with no hope in my eyes
No matter where my father we knew he fought his best His deployments to the (middle) east always kept me in fear Learning English with my mother until he returns to the nest Family of six jumping in feast with eyes full of tears
We always loved to listen to our fathers valiant gest At the Rainbow State or even the Land of Enchantment These types of memories glisten especially moments of jest Happiness is hard to believe in mainly with detachment
Academics are highly regarded as we reach the beehive state “But the most important of all, is to try my best” Don’t worry about the departed or even the near fate Whether on the stage or study hall, sadness must not be expressed
Sometimes it’s a struggle to be a child of the military While cold air often hits with adjustment to revisionary As compared to others around us, we are expeditionary Jumping into new societies flowing like a tributary But we stay resilient and flee away from solitary Having a wide perspective and becoming more visionary
