Suitcase Poem

I load my belongings, ready for goodbye

I will miss all my friends, but certainly won’t cry

Starting all over will never be new

I’ve moved many times, more than a few

My memories now sit, right in my bag

They serve as reminders of the fun that I had

Photos, tickets, store receipts too

I’ll never forget, it’s not what I do

Military children all pay this price

Some move a lot, some only twice

I load up my books

along with my clothes

I’m off to great places

It’s fun I suppose

There’s new adventure

around every bend

I zip up my bag

I’m far from the end
