Being a military child in Europe might be hard, but to me, learning new languages, cultures, tales, exploring new places, can help me grow.

Being a military child makes us special. You’re probably thinking all we do is move around the whole world. But, unlike us, some kids only stay in one place while we explore new places and try new things. Specifically, here in Europe, there are unique places, cultures and history of different places. What you saw on TV or books of Europe, is now a reality.

Trying new foods in Europe is a 50/50 chance of you liking it. Some foods are the famous pizza in Italy, and for dessert, gelato. All the way up in Belgium the sweet chocolate, and right in Spain, the churros, and next to it the Portuguese egg tart. All these iconic foods are different and tasty in their own way. In my experience, I thought eating sugar-coated churros was the best, but in Spain, almost every afternoon we got churros plus hot chocolate. It was fantastic.

In Europe, tall tales and myths are common. In Greek mythology, there are 12 gods. In Rome the same but different names, so the two have very similar stories. Further north the vikings’ tales. Here in Germany, the town musicians of Bremen, and the pied piper of Hamelin. Tales and myths are very interesting to me because of the different Settings, characters, and variety.

Famous people like Gaudi from Portugal, Leonardo Da Vinchi from France, and Martin Luther from here in Germany. Da Vinchi and Gaudi were both sculptures while Martin Luther informed churches. These are only a few famous people from Europe long ago. I liked to see Gaudi’s unique sculptures, like parts of Sagrada Familia felt like a forest., and the lizard had many colors. Gaudi had stuck out to me because of the color, stained glass, and design.

You could also explore famous landmarks. See Big Ben, hold up the leaning tower of Pisa, explore the colosseum and climb the Alps. These are all famous landmarks in different styles. I liked Big Ben, because around it were other famous landmarks like the London Eye, and Buccingham palace. Also, it was comfortable speaking english.
